The algebraic description of geometrical structures is one of the oldest themes in mathematics and fundamental for many modern constructions in theoretical physics; the discretisation of surfaces and manifolds plays a crucial role in theory and applications. The lecture gives an analysts view of some of these structures related to differential equations and explains recent joint work with Joakim Arnlind on the geometry of Kähler-Poisson structures
