Configuration spaces, Voronoi diagrams, and Optimal transport

We will start to explore the configuration space of n distinct, labeled points in the plane -- a classical, geometric object, complement of an arrangement, and important for various topological questions and investigations. Its properties are only partially understood. We will discuss how it parameterizes the decompositions of a convex domain in the plane into n convex pieces of equal area.
