Braids, Conformal Modulus and Entropy

The conformal module of conjugacy classes of braids implicitly occurred already in a paper of Gorin and Lin in connection with their interest in the 13. Hilbert problem.
I will discuss a somewhat surprising relation of this conformal
invariant to a popular dynamical braid invariant, the entropy.
I will give an application showing that the conformal module
gives obstructions for certain smooth objects to be isotopic to the respective holomorphic objects.
